Staying positive

Today I lost my match against the Supreme court team.  I played a flawless first game to 11 - 4 and then proceeded to loose my concentration. I think it all began right after I won and walked off the court.  My mind said something like, 'this is how it starts, with a quick win and then I loose...'  I could not shut that voice up! Then the possum took over the next two games. During that time, I couldn't concentrate on the ball.  There were gaps and seeing the ball.  At times I didn't even see the ball come off my racquet during my serve.  From that point on it was a lot of effort to keep my mind focused on the moment and watch the ball. I don't know where my mind was, but it wasn't watching the ball like yesterday.  By the fourth game, I was making some progress regaining my poise, but it did not play out.

I take heart in saying that I played 4 out of 7 games flawlessly. I'm proud of that record.  I just need to learn how to deal with the possum.

Possum go away!
