In search of consistency

Whenever I drill solo my drives always take a long time to get on track.  The ball feels wrong coming off the  racquet.  The racquet vibrates a little too much in my hands. That's how I know I'm not hitting it right.

When my hand is behind my shoulder and I can feel the shoulder blade compress I know the back swing preparation is right. When my index finger feels like I'm holding a trigger, I know I can snap the wrist properly. When I see the racquet out of my left eye at the end of the forehand, I know I have the right follow through.

Last night I drilled into my head that I also have to bend down really low and step with a little spring in my knees and legs to give the ball that lift and power.

When I perform all of these small techniques, then I will have consistency in my lengths, widths, and pace!
