Mental Toughness

I'm reading the book 'Mental Toughness Training for Sports' by James Loehr. It is Martina's book and helped her when she was fencing competitively. As I read it, I see all of my behaviors described fully in the book. They are all contrary to the good performance state of mind.  One description that really caught my attention is the 'possum'.  Contrasting to the 'raging lion', the 'possum' basically plays dead, which is what happens to me when I try to conjure up the calm state of mind. The trouble with possum is low energy. There are seven or nine ingredients cited in the book. It's useful. I'm only on chapter 2 right now.  I hope to get to the chapters soon that tells you how to achieve the state of mental toughness.
