Concentration triggers

I've been testing my concentrations while driving to work. I consider myself a good driver who has developed subconscious instincts, but that also means my mind wanders a lot to other thoughts while I'm driving. So to put my focus to the test, I've been forcing myself to think of nothing but the task of driving for the entire duration of the trip.

It's hard. My mind associates things I see to past events unrelated to driving at all.  Deliberate concentration requires mind discipline. I find focusing on a couple of driving goals help keep my mind focus.  I will repeat to myself these words:

'keep passing'
'maintain speed'
'look for the opening'
'go through the open door'
'where's the door?'
'where's that car going?'

These phrases in my head keep me focused on the objective. The ultimate goal in my head is, 'I want to take the shortest time to get to my destination'.

What I need is to have an objective in my mind and repeat phrases that help me to think about the act of playing.

The objective in my mind is, 'I want to control play from the T!'

Some phrases to repeat to myself are:
'I want to volley the ball early'
'Where's the ball going?'
'I want my shot to land deep'
'I want to hit my shots wide'

I will repeat these in my head as I play to keep me focused on the 'moment'.
